The source of our Dried Fructus Schisandra is from audited supplier from Liaoning Province, one of the main growing areas of Chrysanthemum in China. 
We buy Dried Fructus Schisandra from our audited suppliers who grow Fructus Schisandra plants in remote mountainous areas far away from industries with low heavy metals, managing the application of pesticides as per our supervision so that there is no pollution of pesticide residues in the products.

The harvest season of Fructus Schizandra is from late August to September, when the plant leaves have fallen after visit of frost. Having been exposed to frost, the berries will show brownish red color, which is regarded as the best quality.

It is the best time to get in the Schizandra berries in fine weather. After having been picked down from the plants, the berries should be handled carefully for fear of hurting the appearance. 

There are two methods of drying Schizandra berries:  1. Place berries thinly-not over 3cm- on reed mat with tree branches underneath in the sunshine.  After 3 days, gently stir the berries so that they will be dried evenly. After about 15 days, depending upon the strength of the sunshine，the berries will be well dried.  2. Dry berries the b in ovens with 40-55℃ for about 12 hours.  The temperature should not be too high.  High temperature will make the berries burnt more or less, thus destroying the appearance in terms of color.
