Senega(Polygala tenuifolia Willd.) is a type of flowering plant. The root has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese Medicine.
The source of our Dried Senega Roots is from audited supplier from Shanxi Province, one of the leading growing areas of Senega in China. We buy Senega from our audited suppliers who grow the Senega plants in the fields far away from industrial areas with low heavy metals, managing the application of pesticides as per our supervision so that there is no pollution of pesticide residues in the Senega.
There are 2 harvest seasons of Senega: Spring Crop in Apr.-May; Autumn Crop, in Sept.-Nov. The roots of 2-3 years old are the best ones. With roots got in, the processing methods are as follows:
1.Washing: wash away the soils stuck to the roots.
2.Selection: remove foreign matters and impurities，and take away the dead roots.
3.Core Removing (optional): Beat the roots when they are soft with a wooden board. And then pull the core out.
4.Cutting: Cut the roots with into pieces of about 3cm.
5.Drying: put the root pieces in a drying machine for about 6 hours with a temperature of about 60℃ until they are well dried.
During the processing, strong magnets and metal detectors are applied to avoid pollution of iron and other metals. Finally workers have the Dried Senega Roots packed in PP bags of 20kg net each.
The annual output of Dried Senega Roots of our company is about 100 tons.
